Rememberance

Apologies for the absence - things have been quite manic with me, and the dreaded Fibro went into a bit of a flare :(   Anyway I wanted to share this little mixed media artwork with you that I made, I really wanted to post this in time for Rememberance Day as this year marks the 100 year anniversary of the start of the First World War.  A very poignant time.

I used a small A6 sized canvas, and first sketched out the outline of the poppies.  Then the layers of paint were built up together with inclusions of bits of lace and mesh to give texture and dimension.

Just a short post, but thank you for visitng, will be back to normal shortly

  1. Hi Stefanie I love what you did with the canvas. The poppies are beautiful. You did a wonderful job. I stumbled across your name on the DT blog for Rhedd's Creative Spirit. So glad I stopped by for a visit. I am so sorry you deal with all the fibro pain. I do too and it's not fun. Like you, I also use blogging and my creative adventures to help me stay as positive as possible. I am also a new DT member at Rhedd,s too. It will be fun getting to know you. And of course I am a new follower too.

    With hugs
